Programs
Children bring a boundless potential to their learning environment. A major goal at CEC is to foster a good self-image in growing children as they learn about themselves and how to use their strengths to build self-confidence. Independence is encouraged and praised, while at the same time each child’s need for comfort and personal attention is recognized. Rich and varied experiences are provided in the broad areas of social, intellectual, and emotional growth. Children are exposed to many traditional nursery school activities including art, music, nature studies, neighborhood walks, field trips, computer exposure, dance/swim classes, cooking and drama. The children are encouraged to explore safe and challenging surroundings with increasing independence. A loving, supportive atmosphere fosters growth in self-help, competence, and creativity. Learning is seen as a continual process rather than broken into discrete levels. Children are placed with their own age groups and gradually transitioned into the next program as they grow.
