Preschool
The Preschool program is designed for children 3 to 4 years of age. Since CEC believes that children learn best though play and hands-on experiences, Preschool offers a curriculum that encourages curiosity and interest. The daily schedule is designed to balance structure and free choice with active and quiet times. The most important goal of Preschool is to help the kids become enthusiastic learners. We want them to experience pride and self-confidence as they gain greater independence and self-control. Teachers encourage Preschoolers to be active and to discover things at their own pace through activities that include art, music, dance, movement, dramatic play, computer exploration, and mini field trips. Self-help skills continue to be encouraged, and conscious attention is given to teaching the children how to solve problems and navigate difficulties with their peers in a particular way. These conflict-resolution skills will make a difference throughout their lives. While teachers encourage independent play and negotiation, they are always available to provide comfort and safety.
