Potty Training
CEC does not require children to be potty-trained by a specific age. It has been our experience that children train themselves without pressure in a social setting where there are other children using the toilet. We believe that learning to potty is the child’s choice and the child’s job and work in partnership with parents to assist children who are ready for the potty experience, typically between 2.5 and 3.5 years of age. Our goal is to make this important learning experience neither threatening nor frightening to the child, but rather a smooth, stress-free, and easy transition from diapers to using the potty. Parents and teachers are there only to encourage the child through the process and not to pressure him or her to perform.
