Darlene Percoats Redmon has been with the program since its inception in 1981, and functioned as it’s Executive Director since 1991. She has substantial experience in childcare and early-childhood education both prior to and including her time at CEC. Her background includes an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, an Associate’s Degree in Education, and a certificate in Administration of Early Childhood Instruction. Darlene’s personal philosophy includes assuring a safe and loving atmosphere for the children, maintaining daily contact with the staff and children, actively communicating with parents, and constantly envisioning new ways for CEC to grow. Darlene oversees the staff, curriculum development and educational needs of the program. She is on site daily from 7:45 a.m. to at least 4:30 p.m. (until closing on most days), and at any given time can be found interacting with and talking to the children, parents and teachers. Darlene has an open door policy and encourages parents to stop by her office at any time.
